By day three, Eliza and I pretty much had the routine established: wake up, have breakfast, pool time, have lunch, pool time, go to dinner, attend the Blue October concert. I know, very exciting right? It makes for great blog content!
Well, not really, unfortunately. Each day was amazing, I can’t stress that enough, it just wasn’t very interesting or adventuresome like other posts on this blog – which is probably why it took me almost six months to put pen to page and finish this post. With that in mind, I’m going to wrap up the trip and then post some day 3 and 4 photos for you to look at… and call it a day for this trip.
The Blue October Cabo Getaway has to be one of my favorite things I have ever done, and that’s a hard list to even score anywhere near the top – but you have to understand I’ve had a special connection to the band for nearly twenty years now, since their album Foiled (with “Into the Ocean”) first released. I’ve grown up and older alongside Justin Furstenfeld, experienced some of the heartache he has, and have been impacted by his lyrics in ways I could never explain to someone on this post – but suffice it to say I was able to meet a legend who has, for decades on end, sang out my inner thoughts and feelings.
The resort is amazing, the all-inclusive experience is, hands-down, the best way to be treated at a resort; and having a private pool is a luxury that I was very reluctant to give up – though Eliza did a great job of getting me out and into the other pools for a while with the rest of the fans – though I think she made more friends than I did on the trip for sure. The concerts each night were spot-on, the access to the band members unprecedented, just an overall mind-blowing time and experience all around that I can’t wait to repeat. With that in mind… I’ll be going again in 2026, and again I’ll be bringing some friends. I can’t wait to share that later this year.
Enjoy these few photos I took when I wasn’t just floating in a pool somewhere:
