We landed in South Africa yesterday evening, and while this post comes late… there wasn’t much to share save for the normal expectations everyone has of air travel these days.

Cape Town, South Africa

On the one hand, I can see why South African Airlines has the reputation that it does, it was in fact quite a nice flight overall. Given, the seats were small and tight, but Jen pulled off a miracle and we sat by the bulkhead for eighteen hours. At first I couldn’t sleep, and I got a bit grouchy if I’m honest, but I was able to sleep on the second leg.

We flew from Denver to Dulles, from Dulles to Dakar, Senegal, from Dakar to Johannesburg, and from there to Cape Town, where we are currently staying.

Last night we checked out the hotel bar briefly, and Jen decided it was time for the Uno championships. This led to us meeting a very nice man who had never played Uno before, so Jen and I taught him while we had a few drinks. If you don’t know… playing Uno at a bar is a great way to meet people!

We have a half-day tour of Cape Town today, more to come!
